How I work and what I believe
-
Often, we come to therapy because of trauma, rupture, or confusion in our relational life. The underlying patterns that inform these symptoms will inevitably show up in the therapeutic relationship where we can work to identify, explore, and change them.
-
Our past experiences, and our adaptations to those experiences show up in our present day behaviors. Those adaptations may have served us perfectly at the time, but no longer serve us (or in fact harm us) in present day.
-
I am trained in Somatic Experiencing, an established, researched, and effective body-centered approach to healing symptoms of trauma. For some, working with the body and nervous system is the primary focus in therapy.
-
We are in relationship to (and part of) systems of every type and at every scale: family, community, city, country, world. Media, technology, politics, laws. Our environment holds clues as to what is happening inside, just as our inner world is a reflection of our external world.
-
We can create shifts by approaching problems in new ways, and following subtle pulls, perceptions, and synchronicities.
-
The nature of psychological challenges is that, while they have very real effects in our lives, they are invisible, intangible, often difficult to grasp. However, in the realm of the invisible, imagination is a superpower to shift, change, and heal.
-
Sometimes, through special experiences like dreams, visions, meditations, synchronicities, we get a peek at the mystery. It is helpful to process and integrate these experiences.
Fundamentally, I am open, non-judgemental, and curious.
All are welcome in my practice.
Office and Location
My office is a free-standing building off the main road in Topanga Canyon. There is easy parking right out front, and it is near all of the nature, cafes, and culture of Topanga to enjoy before or after visits.

Fees and Services
For a standard 50 minute psychotherapy session, my fee is $175. Typically, we will schedule recurring weekly sessions.
In order to make therapy accessible for as many people as possible, I have a number of ‘sliding scale” (pay what you can) slots. These slots are currently full. If you can’t pay the full fee and think we would be a great fit, you are welcome to contact me to go on my waitlist, or I may be able to refer you to others with sliding scale slots available.
